Getting back on their winning track, Isipathana College was forced to fight hard to qualify to the semifinal spot of the Milo Knockouts when they overcame the fighting Antonion’s 29-28 in a close encounter at Sugathadasa Stadium.
Passion and fight were the features which reflected in the quarter-final of the Milo knock-out game between Isipathana College and St. Anthony’s College Kandy this evening. The league runners up were tipped as favorites but the determined Antonion outfit was no pushover and played deadly as the game progressed.St.Anthony’s kicked off play in sunny weather conditions to start off proceedings. A shabby first 10 minutes was witnessed as both sides took time to settle in to the game.

Isipathana concluded their Singer Inter-Schools Under-20 League Rugby Tournament with a convincing 28 points to nil win over Wesley in their final second-round match worked off at Havelock Park yesterday.Isipathana took some time to settle down early in the first half. But once they found their rhythm, Wesley found it tough. The green shirts completely outplayed their opponents in the second half. The winners scored five tries and one penalty.

Or else how would you explain these people taking the whistle with all the verbal insults and the risk of physical abuse. The filth and the abusive language are such that a referee may not be able to bring his parents, his wife nor his children. When five of the top eight Rugby schools are of a Christian background one may expect a better bowing of head to the spirit of Rugby and respect by giving the other cheek: so as to set an example to others. We seem more used to the culture of complaint around us.
