Thevindu Dikwella Breaks School Record

Thevindu Damsara of Isipatana hammered a hurricane century in just 28 balls for his team to salvage some pride after conceding first innings points to Royal, Colombo in an Under-15 Division I tournament match played at Reid Avenue recently.Thevindu’s unbeaten 108 off just 32 balls powered Patana to 134 for one wicket in seven overs in the second innings.He scored 12 sixes and eight fours in his unbeaten knock.

St. Joseph's Beat Isipathana 19-13 to Win President's Cup

St. Joseph’s College clinched the Milo Inter-Schools President’s Trophy when they edged-out Isipathana College 19-13 in the Knock-Out Tournament final worked off under lights at the Race Course Grounds in Reid Avenue on Saturday.The winners also had the satisfaction of winning the President’s Trophy for the first time as they collected their points from two tries and three penalties after having led 8-5 at half time.

Isipathana Win Over St. Peters

The defending champions came into the game looking to redeem their 32-15 loss to the Petes from earlier in the year minus the services of skipper Sumudu Rankothge’s while Peterite playmaker Stephan Sivaraj also missed out. Isipathana dominated the first quarter of the game with their fast open brand of rugby keeping the Petes on the back-foot for most of the opening phases. Harith Bandara continued from where he left from quarterfinals as he and Chamodh Fernando exploited the Peterite defense time and again.  Fernando gained valuable yards with his lovely running before Devin Gunarathne ended the good passage of play with an easy ‘pick and go’ to score the first points of the game. Manilka Rubayru added the extras giving his side a 7-nil lead.
