Pathana Cruise to Semi - Final as Randika Falls on 199

Vishad Randika scored 199 runs (in 287 balls, 21x4s, 2x6s) as Isipatana posted a mammoth 461 for nine wickets declared and earn first innings points against Royal in the Inter School Under-19 Division I quarter-final played at BRC Ground on Tuesday.

The first innings victory meant that there would not be a Royal-Thomian clash in this tournament which will use three-day format from the semi-final stage. Possibilities of a Royal-Thomian before their annual Big Match loomed large when both Royal and S. Thomas’ won their pre-quarter finals from the two halves of the 16 team draw last week.
Pramod Maduwantha (Isipatana) and Geeshath Panditharatne (Royal) achieved personal milestones in this match as they crossed 1000 runs for the season.
Geeshath had 1015 runs against his name at the end of this match. He aggregated the total in 20 matches (26 innings). His tally included three centuries (highest- 150n.o. against both St. Sebastian’s and Prince of Wales) and six half centuries.
While Patana eliminated Royal, S. Thomas’ ended day one of their quarter final with a first innings lead against Richmond.
